SH#2 Anti-nature
Inhabited Sculptures This project is a series of 4 minimal spaces (less than 20 sq. meters), designed according to a specific typology of landscape. Each Sculpture is designed as a land art installation that creates a trouble event in the landscape. But each Sculpture is also designed to be inhabited : It is a monastic place to retreat or to live in that offers a very singular point of view on the environnement. The minimalist approach concerns not only design but also function: to provoke a spiritual experience, to create a constant dialogue with its occupant. SH#2 - Anti-nature A deep forest triggers contrasted feelings: protection as well the impression of infinity. This installation plays with booth sensations. An artificial forest progressively appears over the natural environment. The density of these mixed woods becomes stronger and stronger, to finally create a shapeless shelter - because of the density progression, one can hardly figure out the form of the sculpture. Inside, the wall are dark. The light just enters through tiny holes in the ceiling forming an immaterial clearing.
